Yes, it’s true! You can give your sofa a subtle but effective new look by switching out the legs. Most sofas sold these days are not made of a single frame construction. In many cases the sofa seats, backs and arms are manufactured as one piece and then the legs are screwed in after. So if you want to make a change it’s really easy. Can’t find new legs you like? Simply spray paint the old ones to a new color and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the difference.
Around here, we love coming across ways to get a little more mileage out of our well-loved basics. So when I came across a genius idea about how to revitalize a 6-year-old saggy sofa with a quick trip to the craft store, I just had to try it for myself. My parents‘ poor 15+-year-old overstuffed leather sofa was years past being "overstuffed" and was starting to look really grumpy- like. However sad and grumpy, it´s a much-loved, quality piece of furniture so I was excited to add a few more miles to its already long and generous life.
For a modern, clean look, try placing pillows in contrasting shapes right beside each other on one side of the sofa. The consistency in color ensures continuity. Try clustering trios of geometrically-patterned pillows together. Space them out between each sofa cushion for a look that’s anchored, yet casually rustic at the same time.
